“How much is Enough?”
Entrepreneurs often ask this question when looking to exit their businesses. For example, they may assume that selling their business for $10 million or $20 million is sufficient, but they fail to ask an important question: can I afford to reduce my income from $275,000 to $83,000? Without a strategic exit plan, business owners may later find themselves wrestling with cash flow issues after a sale.
When looking to exit your business, the place to start is cash flow. The question should really be “How much money does my family need each year to maintain our current lifestyle?”
